Two human kings, a dark sectarian and the devil himself will compete to get the highest possible score.

Before the penetrating gaze of the inquisition, mortal kings must decide if they part with their soul to increase their fortune, while the sectarian seeks lucifer to serve him.

Of course, nobody can show their cards, because reputation is as important as the prosperity of the kingdom.

What, we make a deal? From the ashes of the Middle Ages 4 prosperous kingdoms flourish, growing and competing in search of greatness.

Two of them are ruled by mere mortals, caught between their lust for power and the need to please the church.

Another is commanded by a sectarian who has already fallen into temptation and the last by the devil himself.

Some need resources to win.

Others, pieces of your soul.

We make a deal? Work of matúš kotry, author of the famous alchemists, and with art by david cochard, pact with the devil is a game designed for a group of exactly 4 players, from 14 years old, that offers games of about 120 minutes.

Featuring hidden role mechanics, resource management, deduction and engine building, Devil´s Deal challenges players to trade wisely for the most points possible.

There is no single path to success, so each player will score differently and start the game with a variable number of resources, depending on their hidden identity.

In fact, one of the keys to the game is to keep the identities of the players secret, at least for the first few turns.

To guarantee the anonymity and the good development of the deals, a free application is used that will scan the personal chest of each player and thus you will ensure that at no time are the roles mixed up.

Throughout the game, players will try to get basic resources (wood, stone and wheat), valuable resources (marble and glass) and coins to build buildings, hire courtiers and achieve important achievements.

You won´t always have all the resources you need, so you can make deals with players and go into debt to pay for your expenses.

While managing your kingdom, you will also need to take care of your reputation.

To govern you have to set an example! Some events and the construction of certain buildings related to alchemy can negatively affect your reputation.

As if that weren´t enough, after a few rounds there will be a witch hunt:

it smells like black magic here! At this point, the players will vote and whoever receives two or more votes will be questioned.

At this point, you will need to show the purity of your soul.

If you can´t do it (showing 3 soul pieces), you will be penalized.

During the trade phase, players will be able to blindly offer resources in exchange for money.

The devil will tempt mortals with goods in exchange for a part of his soul, while the nature of the sectarian is to sell his soul easily, since he will earn points if he gives himself body and soul to Lucifer.

But be very careful not to flaunt how well things are going for you, as that may arouse the interest of the inquisition.

And it is that in addition to the witch hunt, the holy court also persecutes the forces of evil.

Once again, players will need to show their soul if they are to avoid the wrath of the inquisition.

They can also try to bribe their eminences.

For a small fee, they will turn a blind eye.

Lastly, mortal and cultist players will try to guess their opponents´ roles to earn some extra points.

Pact with the Devil is a very thematic game, which in turn is demanding.

Making good deals will be just as important as knowing what to spend your resources on, while doing your best to keep reputation and the inquisition at bay.
