ABEC is a set of tolerance standards for the production of ball bearings. They were developed by the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA). Five tolerance classes have been distinguished: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 (from the largest to the smallest tolerance). The higher the number, the more precisely the bearing is made. Individual bearing parameters are achieved first by segregating the balls, inner and outer rings, and finally by using a lubricant.
