That’s why, for our garments, we’ve chosen to use merino wool mixed with other fibers, allowing us to attain performance standards that would otherwise be impossible. The wool of merino sheep is made up of very fine, soft, curly hairs, which makes it breathable in summer and insulating in winter. We find these same characteristics in garments made with this incredible natural material. Merino wool not only assists with thermoregulation but is resistant to odors, thanks to the protein molecules present in the fibers that destroy the bacteria responsible for unpleasant odors. It is also able to regulate moisture; the wool can absorb up to 23% of its weight in water without feeling different to the touch, thus avoiding the sensation of wetness. All the merino wool we use comes from farms that do not practice mulesing, a cruel procedure that causes unnecessary pain and stress to the animals.
