Turia Eco pants by JeansTrack are made from an elastic fabric of combed organic cotton and Lycra®. High quality combed cotton, in addition to providing a very soft touch, provides greater resistance and durability due to the length of its fibres but, in addition, this cotton is organic, which guarantees that it is a natural and sustainable product. Lycra®, as an elastic fibre, guarantees both great elasticity and its recovery. Being within our Track Zero (link) program, this garment is not only sustainable due to its raw material but also the processes applying technologies such as laser marking, ozone or nano-bubbles. Also it is important the shipping carbon footprint and plastic-free packaging. In this model, the highest comfort and freedom of movement has been sought, thanks also to its fully elastic waist and the Velcro closure that will avoid any friction and discomfort. With a special pigment dye and the subsequent washing, an aged and worn effect is achieved in the seams that give it a current and characteristic look equal to any casual trousers you wear every day. It was invented by Joseph Shivers, a chemist who worked at North American company DuPont in 1959 and patented it that same year, giving it the trade name LYCRA®. When introduced for the first time, elastane revolutionised many areas of the textile industry. Elastane has been commercialised in the textile sector since its invention, under the trade names NUMA®, UNEI®, DORLASTAN® and LYCRA®, among others. The LYCRA fibre is now the property of the company Invista. It isn´t a fabric, but rather one of the fibres that comprise a fabric. Its properties are to provide elasticity and a higher quality than other elastanes. Nowadays it is mostly used in the sports industry, thanks to its flexibility and lightness. This material works as a continuous filament as it can be either a monofilament or multi-filament.
